Nothing fancy:Just being Lynn

This post has been a long time coming and way long overdue.February has been very busy for me all thanks to dusting off January's woes. How have you been? It is awfully hot and I am one of the few people who wouldn't swim to save their life.Sometimes I feel that the cold season is better, but hey; here's to being human, we always wish to have what we don't.I would love to know how you are dealing with these temperatures because I could use some tips.

So, a while back I posted one of the photos from this shoot on my Instagram account @beinglynn.I am told that now we call it the gram...well I am stunned by how fast things are moving in this age.Everything you know has a new pseudonym which has another acronym. So one of my friends after seeing this photo in her feed in-boxes me earnestly concerned about why I have cut my hair. Well, I didn't. I simply had my hairdresser do very neat cornrows on the sides and the back of my head leaving the center looking as natural as natural can be: Just my kinky African hair washed, deeply conditioned, dried and oiled.I could say that this is one of the best decisions that I have made this year because I've been able to jump into the shower with no shower cap worries and my hair has had a whole month of freedom from bedtime headgears.See, struggles that only a black girl can relate to.LOL.
For this look, I am wearing a thrift sleeveless ivory lace top and a simple pair of faded jeans that I wore HERE. Check it out and share your thoughts in the comments section.I think I love this look more. Also, I decided to experiment with two different shades of lipstick...which is your favorite?Do tell.
In other news, I cannot overemphasize the paramountcy of taking lots of water and fruits at this time of the year,if you live within the tropics that is. Dehydration is as serious as any other health condition is.AND, if you are a Kenyan citizen over 18 years of age with a national identity card and you haven't registered as a voter yet, spare some time to do so, so that you can have a say in the future.
Until next time, have yourself a memorable weekend.
Ciao.

  2. It is hot for sure and a lil bit of refreshment is in order. Kindly, reach out to Nairobi Water and let them know just how impossible the water rationing thingie is making life at this time of the year. And, that is an exquisite look.

  4. Ah! Fooled by the cornrow side bands and the kinky dark tress. Very clever hack for the scorching +254 heat. If only the dark kinks got some distant shade of red :)
